Rednecks are hard working patriotic true Americans so why do people hate us and make fun of us?

i don’t think people HATE you but rednecks do have alot of stereotypes about people,, in a word they are not diverse about the world and american is UNITED so therefore we have many cultures here its time to broaden the Spectrum when it comes to other cultures.

It may be because there is more than one meaning for the term Redneck. For instance, in the Western part of Canada it refers to a “good ole boy” or Cowboy type. In the Eastern part of Canada it refers to someone that is not self aware and is bigoted.
Rednecks didn’t “make” the country though. They are PART of the country.
Supporting war isn’t necessarily what you mean, I think. Perhaps you mean to say that you support the troops. No one should support invading another country for no reason other than $$ and power. That isn’t a good thing.

It’s because most of us are White. It is socially acceptable these days to call for the extermination of all White people, but you sneeze the wrong way in front of a black person, then all hell breaks loose, and we get accused of being hate mongering racists.

Liberals run the world now, and they believe that only they have the right to exist, even though they preach “tolerance”.

And I can’t say too much on here, because you know how “report-happy” liberals are, and yahoo is owned by liberals as well. If you don’t have an extreme left wing, socialist mindset, yahoo answers will look for ANY excuse to ban you.

Because for the most part, “rednecks” are too busy being blinded into thinking America is perfect to really comprehend what is going on with the world.

It’s because rednecks don’t kill people, or deal drugs, or actually commit crime at all. You can say what you want about rednecks, but they’re model citizens.

heh it’s just the grouping that people have in this world. we should allbe just human not german, american, muslim, redneck, jewish. just humans coexisting peacefully.

However, there is greed, and ignorance which is a big part of us humans too.

Well, generally people look down on the lower class. I live in Alabama and it is completely different here than it is up north. Manners, way of life, guns (I’ve know people from up north that won’t even look at a gun, and I’ve been holding one since I was 4). I think people down here are really country, so you have to wonder what people from up north think of me. But seriously, lots of good things come from the south as well. University of South Alabama have medical breakthroughs all the time.

Because those who do are phonies and hypocrites. They like to think that they are better than everyone else – it is called egotism. I would rather have a “redneck” fighting along side of me than the so called celebrities of today. During WW II, there were many genuine heros from Hollywood, but that all changed in the 60′s. Now they are nothing but publicity seekers.

Because of their intolerance and bigotry.
Supporting illegal aggressive wars isn’t patriotic. It’s stupid and an insult to all the troops who died for your freedom from 1939-45. By prolonging a pointless conflict you’re causing the death of innocents.

Rednecks started the epidemic of retarded kids

Because rednecks are generally ignorant about how the world thinks. many of you are racist. if a walked into a redneck neighborhood now they would probably hang me.

and your statement about rednecks making this country what it is today is just proof of your ignorance.

i’m sure you are a nice person. maybe you are not as ignorant like other rednecks. but you have understand why people who are not rednecks don’t like them.

Three things – Ignorance, hypocrisy, and arrogance.

Ignorance – I live in a largely “redneck” area and while I would certainly agree that most of the rednecks around me are good people with good hearts, their closed mindedness is staggering. This includes the educated ones with degrees. They seem to follow a herd mentality and follow whatever is the redneck gripe of the day without taking the time to actually think about or discuss the issue. They take a firm stance on even illogical things, just because that’s what the other rednecks do.

Hypocrisy – Very often they will claim to follow one set of principles, and yet their actions are entirely the opposite. For instance, I know many who denounce the poor “moral” behaviors of say suburban middle class families. And yet they’re saying this while roaring drunk by a bonfire, cursing in front of their children who they ask to bring them more beer, and sleeping around on their spouses. There are more broken families in my “redneck” neighborhood than in most of my friends suburban neighborhoods.

Arrogance – The rednecks make a lot of claims that they are patriotic, religious, and “hard working”, then claim that anybody who disagrees with their lifestyle cannot be the same. There are plenty of us moderate and democratic Christians out there, so they don’t have a monopoly on religious values. And regarding hard working, someone who works behind a desk in an office or in a hospital is no less hard working or productive than someone who leans on a shovel or wears a drill belt all day. And the term Patriotic means loving ones country, not voting for a specific ideology or political candidate.

So in other words rednecks tend to irritate other patriotic, faithful, hard working Americans when they claim that anybody who isn’t a redneck isn’t those things.
