Fixin’ – You fixin’ to go to the store?
Supper – Dinner
Tea – This means sweet tea damnit!
Old Lady – Wife

Well, Southerners eat Dinner…Northerners eat Supper
Southerners sit in the Den…Northerners sit in the living room
Southerners sit on a couch…Northerners sit on a davenport
Southerners put ice cream in the ice box…Northerners put things in the freezer

Whatagal’s only idea of a southerner is apparently Bush. She’s probably never lived anywhere south of Maryland. Many southerners have a certain twang to their speech, but it doesn’t mean they’re ignoramuses.

I say ‘pound’ to indicate hitting something over and over, while a friend from Texas says ‘bound’ for that same thing. I also say ‘washclothes’ but I’ve heard people say ‘warshclarthes.’ Candy —> sweets, thongs —> flip flops, etc. as well.

America/North – Amurica/South
